What makes sperm cells and egg cells different from alomost all other types of body cells?

1. They are haploid cells: that is, they have half the normal number of chromosomes;
2. They are formed from meiosis: this is the immediate cause of #1;
3. They are formed from spermatocytes and oocytes
4. They can create a new member of their species.
