try answer C or B because either one could be the right answer

-3 1/2 = 1/2x + 1/2x +x
-7/2 = 2x
x = -7/2 / 2
x = -7/2 * 2
x = -7/4
x = -1 3/4

answer is x = -1 3/4 (second choice)
