So we need to multiply 165 by .05 to find the sales taxt (equals 8.25) then multiply 16 by 3 for the 3 days which equals 48 and then you add it all together.

Equals $221.25

Answer:

$ 221.25

Explanation:

Given,

The original price of the car = $ 165,

Tax percentage = 5 %,

The amount of tax will be charged by her = 5 % of the original cost of car

= 5 % of 165

= 0.05 × 165 = $ 8.25

Also, the insurance = $ 16 a day,

Insurance will be charged by her for 3 days = 3 × 16 = $ 48,

Thus, the total additional amount she will charge = Tax will be charged by her + Insurance will be charged by her

= $ 8.25 + $ 48 $ = $ 56.25

Hence, the amount she owes = The original amount of the car + Additional amount she will charge

= $ 165 + $ 56.25

= $ 221.25
