First you need to find a common denominator, then you need to estimate, and subtract.
6 1/3 - 1 2/5 = 6 5/15 - 1 6/15
6 5/15 - 1 6/15 = 5 5/15 - 1 5/15 = 4 0/15 = 4
The answer is 4.
