Sophie and Vivian were trying to push a cart up a ramp. They wanted to decrease the amount of effort they needed to use to get to the top of the ramp. Sophie said she wanted to increase the length of the ramp. Vivian said she wanted to decrease the length of the ramp. Who is correct and why?

Vivian, because the shorter the less effort, imagine pushing a cart up a mountain that would take a lot of effort, but up a hill would take less effort. So making the ramp shorter will decrease the amount of effort they needed to use.
