Mean = 16.5

How?

Add up the numbers:

17.2+18.3+14.9+16.8+15.3 = 82.5

Now divide the sum by the amount of numbers in the data set.

There are 5 numbers, so divide 82.5 by 5

82.5 / 5 = 16.5

To find the mean is to find the average, which means add all the data values together and divide by the number of data values. In this case, we add those values together and divide by 6, which equals 82.5/6= 13.75
