AD = BC
x+2 = 2x - 3
2x -x = 2+3
x = 5

AB = DC
2y +1 = 3x - 2
2y + 1 = 3(5) - 2
2y + 1 = 13
2y = 13 - 1
2y = 12
y = 6

answer: x = 5 and y = 6
