If you rewrite the questions into linear form (y=mx+b) then you get

For the first one

2x-12= -3y

Divide by -3 and get

-2/3x +4 =y

For the second one

-6y=4x -24

Divide by -6 and get

y= -4/6x +4

Simplify the fraction and you get -2/3x+4 =y

Obviously these two lines are identical meaning that any number will work
