The answer is that Mr. Gomez bought 1 1/4 pounds of oranges.

We know this is the answer because we are already given the number of pounds of apples that were bought. You then would multiply the pounds by the price of the apples and then subtract it by the total amount spent. After that, you would then divide the difference into the price of the oranges in order to get the number of pounds of oranges were purchased.
