Answer: There are 25 students in the class.

Explanation:

Let there are total x students in the class,

Since, 20% of the total students want ice cream party,

⇒ The number of students who want ice cream party = 20 % of x

= 0.2 of x

= 0.2 x

According to the question,

5 students, out of total students, want ice cream party

⇒ 0.2 x = 5

x = 25

Hence, there are 25 students in the class.
