First, simplify the 16:4 ratio.
• 16:4 ÷ 2 = 8:2 ÷ 2 = 4:1
Now, check to see if they're equivalent:
• 3:1 = 4:1 ???
- 3:1 =/= 4:1
So, NO these ratios are not equivalent.
