ΔABC is a scalene triangle. m∠A = (2x + 8)°, m∠B = (2x - 2)°, and m∠C = (3x - 8)°. Find the measure of the largest angle.

m∠A+ m∠B+m∠C = 180
2x + 8 + 2x - 2+3x - 8 = 180
7x - 2 = 180
7x = 180 +2
7x = 182
x = 182/7
x=26

m∠A = (2x + 8)° = 2(26) + 8 =60
m∠B = (2x - 2)° = 2(26) -2 =50
m∠C = (3x - 8)° = 3(26) - 8 =70

answer :
measure of the largest angle is m<C = 70

The measure of angle C is the largest of the three.

- First note that all angles of a scalene triangle are different values.

- Next, note that all the angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees.

- First, I did a little guess & check and entered 15 for X and found that the angles added up to 103.

- I determined that 77/7 (seventy-seven is the remainder) & (seven is the number of variables) is equal to eleven so I added 11 to my guess of 15.

- X=26. I plugged the number in for the variables and solved.

- Angle A= 60 degrees

- Angle B= 50 degrees

- Angle C= 70 degrees
