You are to multiply b^4 by b.

You could write this as follows: "b to the fourth power" times "b to the first power."

Since the bases (b and b) are the same, all you have to do here is to ADD together the two exponents, which are 4 and 1.

Let's say b equals 2

2^4=16

16*2= 32
