A sales person earns a 30% commission on all car sales plus a base salary of $20,000.his/her total income last year was more than$80,000 write an inequality to find out how much the sales person sold in cars for cash?

The inequality is 20,000+(x*.30)=80,000.

You know the base salary is the $20,000. Then the (x*.30) is the unknown car sales, x, multiplied by the 30%(.30). Then that equals the known ending income of at least $80,000. That's how you get your equation.
