You are paid $8.55/hr at your part-time job. You work 10 hours per week. You are considering working a part-time job for $6.25/hr, and it pays tips. You will earn an average of $3.00/hr in tips. If you work the same 10 hours at the new job, how much more is your total gross income including tips compared to your old job?

I am confused

Answer:

Your total gross income including tips is $7 more compared to your old job

Explanation:

You are paid for 1 hour at old job = $8.55

You worked for 10 hours

So, Income =
10 * 8.55

=
85.5

So, You earned $85.5 from the old Job for working 10 hours

Now At new job

You are paid for 1 hour = $6.25

You worked for 10 hours

So, Income =
10 * 6.25

=
62.5

He also gets a tip of $3.00/hr

So, tip for 10 hours =
10 *3/tex]</p><p> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; = [tex]30

So, You earned total amount at new Job = $62.5 +$30 = $92.5

So, To calculate how much more is your total gross income including tips compared to your old job/

92.5 - 85.5

7

Hence Your total gross income including tips is $7 more compared to your old job .
