Solution:

For this case we know that the width is given by:

w = 6x +8

The lenght is given by:

l= 12x +16

And the perimeter would be given by:

P= 2l +2w = 2(12x+16)+ 2(6x+8)= 24x+32 +12x+16=36x + 48

And then the ratio would be:


\text{ratio}=(6x+8)/(36x+48)=(3x+4)/(18x+24)
