L=Laura's age, S=sons age
L=2s-4
L+S=119
=> L=119-S
119-S = 2s-4
119+4=3s
123=3s
s=41 implies L=78
78+41=119
and 78=2*41-4
therefore Laura is 78 and her son is 41
