The area of a circle PQR with center O is 72cm. What is the area of sector POQ if angle POQ is 40

There are 360 degrees in a circle. If you simplify 40/360, you get how much of the circle the portion is. 40/360 simplifies to 1/9, which means that if you multiply 1/9 by 72, you get the area of the sector. Therefore, the area of sector POQ is 8.
