Is 26 a perfect square? Why or why not?

No it isn't.
Explanation : a perfect square is the product of a rational number multiplied by itself. There is no number that can be multiplied by itself to get 26

26 is not a perfect square because the square root of 26 is 5.09,but I think and I guess 25 is a perfect square instead of 26......
