I'm pretty sure the correct answer is C. they circle the nucleus in perfectly round orbits

Electrons are found in the cloud surrounding the nucleus, therefore a is wrong.
You can only assume their general location, thus B is wrong. C describes the Bohr model, which is quite old and disproven.
D is your answer.
