Answer:

h(x) = 9

1/2x +3 = 9

1/2x = 9-3

1/2x = 6

x = 6÷1/2

x = 12

Answer:

x = 12 when h(x) = 9

Solving:

[] The problem:

h(x) =
(1)/(2)x + 3

[] Plugging in our known values:

-> h(x) = 9, not h(9) where x = 9

9 =
(1)/(2)x + 3

[] Solving:

-> The problem

9 =
(1)/(2)x + 3

-> Subtract 3 from both sides

6 =
(1)/(2)x

-> Divide both sides by
(1)/(2)

12 = x or x = 12
