The answer is A.
What you can do is distribute the 1/4 or 4 into the parentheses and see if it is the expression you want:

(1)/(4)(n-64)\\ (1)/(4)n-((64)/(4))\\(1)/(4)n-16\\\\4(n-4)\\4n-16\\\\4(n-64)\\4n-(4*64)\\4n-256
Since only option A simplifies to
(1)/(4)n-16, A is your answer.

The answer is A.) 1/4(n-64) because if you distribute the 1/4 onto the parentheses it becomes n/4 - 16 which is equivalent to 1/4 - 16 if n were to equal 1.
