Last year I visted the island of St Vincent and the Grenadines, which is located in a section of the lower Caribbean known as the lesser Antilles. There were people of all racial backgrounds, ethnicities and walks of life. Some people were Caribs, the descendants of the indigenous people that inherited some Caribbean islands long ago, others were Indians both immigrants and born on the island and there were lovely people of African decent as well. Most people were Christian but I enjoyed seeing the diversity of the Christians of the island as well as the religions that other people had
I visited tourist sites such as the La Soufriere volcano, a volcano that has been dormant since around 1979 and became active for around a momth last year and the national park known as the Botanical Gardens where I saw the national bird of the island, a parrot called the Amazona Guildingii and many plants and trees. I enjoyed the hospitality of the people there and their lovely food and hope to go their again one day but for now I will hold on to the memories of that exciting trip.
