(Please help this is a very important homework assignment :))

For the reaction
? P4 + ? S8 → ? P4S10 ,
what is the maximum amount of P4S10 which
could be formed from 14.62 mol of P4 and
2.14 mol of S8?
Answer in units of mol.

First, we need to balance the chemical reaction first.
4P4 + 5S8 -> 4P4S10
Next, we determine the limiting reactant based on the given amounts of the reactants and the stoichiometric ratio of the reactants.
Based on 14.62 mol P4, the P4S10 produced is
16.42 mol P4 (4 mol P4S10 / 4 mol P4) = 16.42 mol P4S10
Based on 2.14 mol S8
2.14 mol S8 (4 mole P4S10 / 5 mol S8) = 1.71 mol P4S10

The maximum amount is 1.71 mol P4S10 since S8 is the limiting reactant.
