On the first visit to the veterinarian's office, Cora's kitten weighed 550 grams. On the second visit, the kitten had gained 350 grams. On the third visit, the kitten had gained another 300 grams.

What is the percent increase since the first visit in the kitten’s weight rounded to the nearest percent?
(PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS. I HAVE A MIDTERM TOMORROW AND I DONT GET THIS QUESTION AT ALL)

Answer:

118%

Explanation:

weight at first visit = 550g

weight at 2nd visit = 550 + 350 = 900g

weight at 3rd visit = 900 + 300 = 1200g

Percentage increase =
(1200-550)/(550) *100=118.181818... = 118%
