When an ice cube in an empty beaker melts, the volume of water in the beaker just after the ice has melted is less than the volume of the ice cube. Explain what this tells you about the density of ice compared with the density of the water just after the ice has melted.

I'm not positive but I believe its that the ice has a higher density and water has the lowest density.

Ice has a higher density because the particles are more comapact together. Because of how the particles are spread out in water, it tends to have a lower density than ice.
