One of the main problems Adams faced was that he was expected to be as great as the Almighty Washington. Another problem he faced was that France and Britain and the United States had alliance problems, Adams had to choose between siding with France or Britain. Also he received much criticism after he passed the
Alien and Sedition acts because it was deemed 'racist' to some extent.
