Find the distance between the points (4,1) and (2,4) using distance formula

Given:-


(4,1)(2,4)

To find the distance.

So the distance formula is,


d=√((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2)

Substituting we get,


\begin{gathered} d=√((2-4)^2+(4-1)^2) \\ d=√(-2^2+3^2) \\ d=√(4+9) \\ d=√(13) \end{gathered}

So the required distance is root 13.
