Hurting yourself usually is not fun at all, especially stubbing your toe, but when that happens, the signals move rapidly up insulated nerve fibers to the brains thalamus which is like a relay station and directs them over to the sensory cortex of the brain. The signals are then interpreted by the brain as a sharp pain, and
