The increase:
$5,800,000 - $5,000,000 = $800,000
The percent of increase:
800,000 x 100 : 5,000,000 = 16%

Percentage increase = (increase) x 100 / original
Percentage increase = (5,800,000 - 5,000,000) x 100 / (5,000,000)
Percentage increase = 16%
