This is true because the slope is 2 (which is y over x,y/x, in this case 2/1) and sense the coordinates is 3 (x) and 6 (y) simplifies to up 6 over 3 which equals 6/3 which simplifies even more to 2/1 which is the original slope.

since 6 is a y point, you substitute it for y in slope intercept form.
same goes for x.
6=2(3)
6=6
true
