4(3/2y+2)+3y=26
6y+8+3y=26
add the y's together
9y+8=26
subtract 8 on both sides
9y=18
divide by 9 on both sides
y=2
(then substitute 2 for y)
4x+3(2)=26
4x+6=26
subtract 6 on both sides
4x=20
divide by 4 on both sides
x=5
