How to solve this 3y+1=4y-6

So what you have to do first is get all the numbers without variables on one side, and y has to be by itself on the other.
you can do it like this:
3y+1=4y-6
-3y -3y

1=y-6
+6 +6

y=7

(you would add 6 b/c there is a minus sign next to it)
