ELIMINATION!! How do you work out 4x+7y= -80 and 3x+5y= -58

3(4x+7y=-80)
-4(3x+5y=-58)

12x+21y=-240
-12x-20y=232
the x's cancel out and you're left with
y=8
then you plug in y and get
4x+7(8)=-80
4x+28=-80
4x=-108
x=27
