$24.80. you multiply the 9 times 4 to get 36 then you multiply $.55 times 9. the you add that answer to $5. $24.80

The equation for this problem is 5 + 9(.55 × 4)
.55 × 4 = 2.2
2.2 × 9 = 19.8
19.8 + 5 = 24.8
The cost of the taxi ride would be $24.80
