The lengths of 3 pieces of rope in the ratio 3:5:7. if the longest piece of rope is 56 inches long, how long is the shortest piece rope? (PLEASE SHOW STEPS!)

ratio being 3:5:7
longest being 56 so
7x=56
x=8
multiply the other lengths by 8
3*8=24
5*8=40
making the final
24:40:56
