To what extent do you think lies and deception played a role in Hitler's tactics?

Honestly?
A huge amount.
One of his biggest lies was that he was a vegetarian and was immune to the temptation of flesh. How could this possibly affect how others thought of him? What was his goal? Hitler though that if everyone believed that he could resist meat and the temptation of the flesh, then he was basically Super-human. It was part of his plan to instill fear into the hearts of other men.

In reality though, the guy loved his meat and he had about 3 mistresses.

Hope this helps! (:

They played a large role. They convinced most of the public to turn against certain people even though they did nothing wrong. Without lies and deception Hitler would probably never taken over so quickly.
