How does the bolded figurative language add meaning to the scene that Mark Antony is describing

One good descriptive adjective for Mark Antony would be "loyal." He was steadfastly loyal to Julius Caesar while Caesar was alive, and he used his wits and oratorical skill to render what service he could to Caesar after his friend had been assassinated. ... Another good adjective adjective would be "pragmatic."

Evidence showing that Portia is starting to lose control is that she is starting to hear things that aren't there. She knows deep down that something is wrong with Brutus. She starts acting paranoid, and she also sends a spy for Brutus.
