How does the poem testify to the simultaneous attraction to and repulsion from evil?

The attraction to evil is brought by the fascination over it, it's origin and whether or not God Himself made evil. The repulsion from evil is the immediate response to the realization that what makes evil, well, evil is its terrifying examples pointed out by the body parts of a horrible winged creature.
