Add, -2/3 + 5/6

The denominators of the fractions must be equal to be able to sum the numbers.

What value should we multiply the 3, so that it is equal to 6? It would be 2

But since we must multiply the denominator by 2, the numerator will also have to multiply.

Because, 2/2 = 1

-2/3 × 2/2 = -4/6

Then,

= -2/3 + 5/6

= -4/6 + 5/6

Now we can to sum..

= (-4 + 5)/6

= 1/6

Simple, you are adding a negative to a positive, so think of it as a subtraction, 5/6 - 2/3 = .
2/3 is 4/6.
5/6 - 4/6 = 1/6
