The Ancient Greeks were the driving force behind the development of western astronomy and science. Pythagoras was more of a mathematician. Ptolemy was more of an astronomer and Eudoxas was both an astronomer and a mathematician..... looking at your choices, I would choose D) Greek Mathematicians.

Answer:

The correct answer is D. Eudoxus, Ptolemy, and Pythagoras were Greek mathematicians.

Step-by-step explanation:

-Eudoxus of Cnidus was an ancient Greek mathematician, mechanic and astronomer.

The scientific school of Eudoxus played a large role in the development of ancient astronomy and mathematics. Historians of science classify Eudoxus among the founders of integral calculus and theoretical astronomy. In particular, Eudoxus created the theory of geometric quantities (an antique analogue of real numbers), the exhaustion method (a prototype of the analysis of curvilinear figures), and the first theoretical model of the motion of celestial bodies.

-Clavdius Ptolemy was a late Hellenic astronomer, astrologer, mathematician, mechanic, optician, music theorist and geographer.

He was the author of a classical antique monograph, the Almagest, which was the result of the development of ancient celestial mechanics and contained an almost complete collection of astronomical knowledge of Greece and the Middle East of that time.

-Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher and mathematician.

Among other things, Pythagoras is known for the Pythagorean Theorem, which gives the relationship between the catheter and the hypotenuse in a right-angled triangle.
