Venus is hotter due to the greenhouse effect: Venus has an atmosphere about ninety times thicker than that of Earth, and made almost entirely of carbon dioxide, which is one of the gasses that causes the greenhouse effect on Earth.

Venus becomes hotter because it has a very thick atmosphere. An atmosphere is a layer of gasses surrounding a planet or a moon. An atmosphere stops heat from escaping. Venus' atmosphere is much thicker than Earth's. It is mostly made of a gas that ic called carbon dioxide.
