Write the equation of a line that is perpendicular to the given line and that passes through the given point.

y + 2 =1/3 (x – 5); (–4, 3)

y=-3x+15
y=-3x-9
y=-4x+3
y=-1/3x-11

the quickest way is just to put the (-4,3) in all 4 and see for witch one you get the right answer:
so for y=-3x-9 if we put (-4,3) we have 3= -3*-4-9
3=12-9
3=3
which means this is the correct answer
