Solve for the x's.

x(3.8) = 9(4) - 9(x)

x(3.8) = 9(4) - 9x

multiply together 9 and 4.

x(3.8) = 36 - 9x

rewrite x(3.8) as a coefficeint.

3.8x = 36 - 9x

add 9x to each side.

12.8x = 36

divide each side by 12.8.

x = 2.8125
