Answer: from the food they take in

The chemicals needed to produce molecules comes from the food which an organism eat. A food is a rich source of fats, oils, proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins which are required by the cells to produce functional molecules necessary for building the body and maintaining it's proper functioning.
