How many solutions do linear equations have?  -2x - 3y = 7 

-0.4x - 0.6y = 1.4

In the case of linear equations with two unknowns, you would have two solutions: and "X" value and a "Y" value
-2x - 3y = 7
-0.4x - 0.6y = 1.4
In this case the solution is x=4 and y=-2
