The significance is that if we come together on one side of the debate it could alter the earth dramatically. It's relevant because the debate is still ongoing with evidence from both sides, and probably will continue for a long time.

It is significant becasue if not believes that the clime is truly changing then there will be no effort to help stop the negative changes. It could effect our world faster and more worse in the long run if we don't help our earth now .
