3 divided by 2 equils 1.5 that's the radius
Then pi x radius squared
Then times that by the length the answer is
35.34291735

area of the side around = 3x5= 15 inches²
the area of the bottom is π x radius² = π x 1.5²= 7.07inches
(the diameter is 3 therefore the radius is 1.5)
all of the material needed is the side and the bottom = 15+7.07 = 22.07inches
