This question has nothing to do with current events, it has to do with the US-Mexican War that happened in the mid to late 1800's.

This is a viewpoint question, so you have to answer it how you feel. Was the US right to declare war? Was Santa Ana correct in cutting off peace talks with the US? Was he right when he attacked the Texans at the Alamo? Could the US have gotten the territory that we know as Texas, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Utah in a peaceful way?

The U.S. should NOT declare war on Mexico because 1. Mexico and the U.S have very close economic ties and the U.S. is Mexico's largest trading partner. 2. The U.S. gets a lot of people that are, citizens or no, working. The immigrants kind of help the U.S. from going into another Great Depression. 3. Besides the fact that the Mexican government helped during 9/11 and opted not to join the War on Terror.
