The answer would be true because since light does not penetrate to the bottom, photosynthesis is limited to the top layer in Lake ! so True !.

A lake is larger in size and has greater depth as compared to a pond. A lake has greater depths , due to which it is difficult for sunlight to penetrate to the deepest layer. The plants are usually found at the top layer as photosynthesis can take place only in presence of sunlight.

While a pond has shallow depth, thus rooted plants are supported.
